Nadat de dochter van de lokale sheriff op een verdachte manier om het leven komt, wordt de jonge Jed opgesloten in een gesticht. Tien jaar later veroorzaakt hij een bloedbad in de inrichting en ontsnapt met drie medepatiënten. De sheriff is gebrand op wraak en begint een klopjacht. Zo begint Jed aan een helse en bloederige reis die hem zal vormen tot het monster 'Leatherface'.
